On April 9, Canton ISD Transportation Department hosted the annual East Texas Association of Pupil Transportation School Bus Road-E-O.

The Road-E-O tests school bus driver’s knowledge and driving skills.

Twenty-two contestants from East and North East Texas school districts competed in the event.  Two different categories of school buses were driven, transit style and conventional style.  Each driver was given a written exam and then must drive an obstacle course, consisting of 11 different driving related obstacles, accumulating points along the way.

Stan Loftin, of Canton ISD, placed second in the Conventional division.

First and second place winners are eligible to compete at the State level competition in June and this year it is being held in Beaumont during the annual Texas Association of Pupil Transportation conference.

Canton ISD Transportation Director, Dawn Loftin, described the Road-E-O a huge success made possible by the efforts of many volunteers and an out pouring of financial support provided by many local merchants. “On behalf of the ETAPT and the Canton ISD Transportation, we say to you all,  thank you for your generous help in making this School Bus Road-E-O successful.”
