Fall junior high registration dates set

Canton Junior High has announced the dates for fall registration.

All sixth, seventh and eighth grade students can register between 8 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. Aug. 4  or 9 in the junior high library.

According to school officials, it will take about one hour to complete the required paperwork, have textbooks issued and get lockers assigned.

To register, students must be in dress code (with appropriate haircuts) according to the CJH handbook and Canton ISD Code of Conduct, school officials said.

The registration process must be completed before a student can receive his or her class schedule.

Additionally, all students must have current immunizations on file prior to the start of school.

There will be an immunization clinic from 3 to 7 p.m. Aug. 9 at CJH for those needing immunizations. “Please do not wait to the last moment to acquire immunizations as vaccine shortages have occurred in the past.  All incoming seventh grade students have been mailed a copy of their current immunization records and a list of specific immunization requirements to begin the seventh grade,” officials said.

All incoming seventh grade students who will be participating in athletics must have a physical exams prior to the start of school Aug. 15.

Students who are new to the Canton ISD should pre-register from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 2, 3 or 4.
