Canton singers bring home top marks

The Canton High School Choir took 23 students to compete at the TSECC competition in Austin May 39 and came homr with a total of 15 Division 1 ratings.

Division 1 is the highest rating a student singer can achieve in this competition.

The group also earned 12 Division 2 (excellent) awards and three Division 3 (good) ratings.

Some of the students competed with a solo, ensemble, and some did both a solo and ensemble, Choir Director Angela Russell said.

“We are proud of all the choir students hard work,” Russell said. “The competition is very difficult at the state level and our students represented Canton well!

Thank you to our administration for funding our students and parents for chaperoning and supporting our choir program! We could not have done it without your financial and encouraging support!”
