Services for Ronald Pittmon Dawson, 84, of Canton, were held Sept. 29, 2016, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Mike Roberson officiating.

Mr. Dawson passed away Monday, Sept. 26, 2016, in Tyler.

He was born Jan. 5, 1932, in Canton to B.J. Dawson and Lottie Bell Pittmon Dawson.

He grew up in the Canton area and was a Christian by faith. He served his country during the Korean Conflict with the U.S. Army and was stationed in Trieste, Italy. He served in the Recon Honor Guard for many generals and the Secretary of State, Clare Boothe Luce. He was very proud of his service to his country.

He was a barber by trade for many years in the Dallas and Canton areas. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cattle ranching, raising peas and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Selma; brothers and sisters-in-law: Perry Max and Ruth of Florida; Harold and Alyce of Dallas; Charles and Wanda of Richardson; Jerry and Susie of Wills Point; and Allen and Sandra of Canton.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ben; and sister, Sally Hilliard.

Interment was at Haven of Memories in Canton.
