WWII veteran celebrates 93rd birthday

Country Place Senior Living in Canton resident James Wafford celebrated his 93^rd  birthday, Tuesday, Nov. 22.

He served in the Army during World War II in the 86^th Blackhawk Infantry Division from 1943 to 1946. The 86^th Infantry arrived in France in March 1945, and took part in the drive through Germany, ending in Salzburg when hostilities in Europe were declared over May 7, 1945.
