1937-2016
Glenda Faye Dry, beloved mother, Nana and Nan, passed away Dec. 21, 2016, in Grand Saline.
She was born Aug. 14, 1937, in Groesbeck to Benjamin Andrew and Edna Caroline (Broom) Richmond. She was met in Heaven by her parents, her brothers, William “Shorty” Richmond, Donald Glen “Donny” Richmond and Lige Richmond; sister, Lela Alma “Sissy” Grace and brother-in-law, Percy Cornell “Bud” Grace.
A gentle spirit who was the light of her family, she was the most steadfast supporter of her children and grandchildren. She was an independent lady who knew how to take care of her family and herself and would often put her own needs last in order to make sure each member of her family was taken care of. While raising her sons and daughter, she would help them to see that kindness and love would always be the best way to treat others and they carry on this legacy in their own daily lives. With her grandchildren, she was their number one fan and cheerleader and she was a fixture at their extracurricular activities where she would be encouraging in their every effort and activity. Her great grandchildren were truly the light of her life and had a special place in her heart.
Her personality was such that she never met a stranger and her beautiful smile was always an invitation for others to just sit down and visit with her about anything and everything. A beautiful woman inside and out, she will be missed tremendously by all who knew her.
She leaves to hold dear her memory her beloved of over 32 years, Odis Dry of Grand Saline; her children, Carolyn Stewart and husband, James of Terrell, William Jep Dry, Jr. and wife Tammy, of Grand Saline, Jimmy Dry and fiancée, Shannon, of Terrell, as well as her children’s father, W. J. Dry; grandchildren, Todd Stewart and wife, Beth of Terrell, Crystal Jeffrey and husband Chad of Terrell, Chelsea Wallace of Terrell, Holly Longacre and husband Chad of McKinney, Kelly Leevey and husband, Josh of Lindale and Brandon Dry and wife, Jen, of Forney; great grandchildren, Colton, Maci, Haven, Jill, Hunter, Trevor, Dalton, Jeffery, and Dylan; special sister, Lottie Jo Copeland of Elmo as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
