Golfers finish fifth at Garden Valley

The Canton boys golf team finished fifth overall during the Lindale High School Invitational held at Garden Valley Golf Club Feb. 24-25.
The Canton High School boys golf team traveled to Lindale Feb. 24-25, hitting the links at Garden Valley Golf Club for the annual Lindale Invitational. The boys battled cooler temperatures and wind throughout the event, finishing fifth overall out of 12 teams. Teams finishing ahead of Canton included Hallsville, Lindale, Texarkana Texas High and Highland Park.
CHS had eight boys compete in the field of over 70 entrants, with Patrick Malouf posting back-to-back 79s to finish fifth overall individually.
Other Eagle golf scores included Logan Willeford carding 82-88, Matthew Allen carding 94-83, Tristan Nelson carding 83-80, and Will Huddle carding 91-98. Clayton Stern (98-95), Dawson Pruitt (112-102) and Ethan Martin (115-124) competed as Medalists.
