Superlatives, All-District honorees announced

Kenley Nixon was named the District 13-4A Co-Defensive Player of the Year for the 2016-’17 season, sharing the honor with Mabank’s Hannah Hudson.
With another season officially in the books for District 13-4A girls basketball teams, coaches released their list of student athletes that have earned Superlative and All-District recognition for the 2016-'17 season.
Canton and Van each took home one Superlative honor and multiple All-District nods, while Wills Point placed two on the Honorable Mention All-District team.
Superlative honorees included:
-MVP: Tamaria Manning, Brownsboro
-Offensive Player of the Year: Kenna Kellam, Rains
-Defensive Player of the Year: Kenley Nixon, Canton; Hannah Hudson, Mabank
-Newcomer of the Year: Macy Rucker, Van
-Sixth Man of the Year: Aleiah Williams, Brownsboro; Brianna Martin, Mabank
