Funeral services for Margaret Ann Weatherall, 80, Canton, were held Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Hilliard Funeral Home with the Rev. Billy D. Johnson officiating and the Rev. Joe Turner and Rev. Dan Tarno assisting.
Burial was in Haven of Memories Cemetery. Mrs. Weatherall passed away on March 18, 2017 in Canton.
She was born Sept. 14, 1936, in the Tundra Community to the late Andrew Jackson Rowan and Bonnie Olivia McClellen Rowan.
She was a lifelong resident of Canton, where she attended Canton schools. She worked for Terrell State Hospital for 10 years and The Andrews Center in Canton for 10 years as well. She enjoyed cooking and working in her flower beds, as she had a green thumb and could grow just about anything.
She loved visiting and playing games with all of her friends and when she was no long able to drive, she talked with them on the phone. For many years, she and her former classmates would meet once a month for lunch. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by her loving family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Benard Weatherall who passed away in 1994, after 35 years of marriage. She is also preceded in death by siblings, Billy Mac Rowan, Martha Joe Rowan and Toy Lea Morgan and a great-grandson, Jonathan Bailey.
Survivors include her children Joe Wright, Benard and Kathy Weatherall, Jeanne and Yogi Yarbrough, Martha Weatherall and Lea Ann and Rusty Massey, all of Canton; step-daughter, Marvone Land and husband, Ken of Edgewood; one sister, Imogene Newton and husband, Edward of Canton; grandchildren, Andy Wright (Jennifer Davis), Matt Wright (Brandi Burns-Little), Joshua Bailey (Angela Jones), Amber Myers (Randy Myers), Justin Massey (Jennifer Noah), Cheyenne Massey (Colt Patterson), Amy Bass, Lance Bass (Jennifer Bass) , Allyson Bailey (Andrew Thomas) and Terri Pinson; great-grandchildren, Laikyn Wright, Jaynie Wright, Dessa Bailey, Morgan Bailey, Avery Bailey, Rowan Myers, Jolie Bass, Layton Bass, Laynee Bass and Larry Pinson
Pallbearers were grandsons, Justin Massey, Joshua Bailey, Andy Wright, Matthew Wright, Colt Patterson and Randy Myers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Cole Young, Andrew Thomas, Eddie Newton, Tres Newton, Brian Newton, Jake Morgan, and Gregg McKnight.
The family would like to thank Corner Stone Hospice/Always Accurate Hospice, Jordan Health Care, Dr. John Turner and the staff of UT Health Northeast for caring for Margaret.
