String of thefts plague Walmart

The Canton Police Department responded to numerous calls throughout last week, but Walmart was the star attraction in the theft show. Fortunately, due to the efforts of Canton Police Department officers and Walmart’s loss prevention associates, approximately all the stolen merchandise was recovered. From a suspect fleeing the scene to a woman stuffing her large purse full of pies, briskets and makeup, Walmart has seen a full circus come about during the past couple of days.

In  early afternoon on March 10, CPD officers were dispatched to Walmart in reference to a shoplifter.  The suspect was identified as a black male, wearing a white shirt and black shorts. The suspect then ran through the parking lot. After receiving help from onlookers, officers were advised that the suspect was seen walking towards State Highway 243.  Officer Deville and K-9 Officer Mido were on hand to assist in apprehending the suspect, who was seen walking near Arnold Paul Road.  The male was identified as Korina Johnson of Dallas. The total of the theft was $260. The suspect was placed into custody and was brought to the VZC Justice Center for book-in.
