Amalee Kibbey

1929-2017

Amalee Grady Kibbey, 88, was born  Jan. 28, 1929 in Danville, Ark. and joined her beloved husband “Buddy” in the Kingdom of Heaven on March 24, 2017.

She was fondly known by many names to her friends and family as Mama Kibbey, Pooch, Aunt Amalee, Mi Mi and Mom.

She and C.M. Kibbey were married in 1948 and lived most of their married life in Irving followed by a few retirement years residing in Van and Celina until his death in March 2013. 

She worked many years for Abbott Laboratories but she would say her proudest accomplishment was raising her four girls.  She was honest, devoted and stubborn in her beliefs, and would tell you what she thought, usually with a smile followed by, “I love you.”

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Clarence (Buddy) Kibbey; mother and stepfather, Connie and Osmer Watson; sister, Ruby Hill; and brothers, Melvin and Bill Grady.

She is survived by her daughters, Kathy Wilson and husband Larry, Debbie Neuse, Marsha Lindsey and husband Gary, Mary Phillips and husband Cody, eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. 

The family would like to acknowledge her closest friends: Betty Drum, Joyce Willoughby, Thelma Brock and Mary Lou Julian.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.  Graveside service will at Holly Springs Cemetery in Martins Mill at 1 p.m.
