CHS tennis travels to Corsicana for tournament

CHS sophomore Shaylee Watson won first place overall in the varsity girls singles division of the Corsicana Tournament March 23.
The Canton tennis team continued throughout the homestretch of their 2017 spring season last week, making the trek to Corsicana for tournament play March 23.
Sophomore Shaylee Watson defeated Holton from Midlothian to capture first place in girls singles. On the boys side of the tournament, sophomore James Sterling won third place in boys singles.
Sophomore Ashley Wood and junior Maddie Welty advanced to the quarter finals in girls doubles. Riley Nicks and Charity Roberts also advanced to the semifinals in mixed doubles.
Freshman Olivia Norrell and Mason Wilson played well advancing to the winners side of the bracket before going down in a competitive match, 6-8. Blake Burns advanced to the quarter finals in boys singles.
