April 6, 1961-Canton Herald- Canton Sales Barn too open Today: Canton’s newest business at its new barn today beginning at 1 p.m. Owners of the local sale barn, Dee and Russell Priest, told the press that some of the largest livestock buyers in East Texas will be on hand to buy at the first sale.

Russell Priest said that no special activity is planned, but that a good sale is in the offering. A modern restaurant operated by Mrs. Raymond Fincher is a part of the livestock building.

The new barn, which is located just east of the intersections of highway 19 and 243 in Canton is one of the most modern livestock barns in this area with the latest facilities for handling livestock.

FUNERAL SERVICES: Harry Tracy Reeves, 71, were conducted at the Colfax Methodist Church, Friday, March 31 with Rev. Frank Bukhair and Rev. Frank Richardson, Jr.

Interment was at Colfax Cemetery under direction of Eubank Funeral Home.

Russell Gambill, 54, died at his home near Canton Sunday morning. Services held at 4p.m. Restland Memorial Chapel of Dallas, with Rev. W. D. Dickerson officiating. Arrangements under direction of Hilliard & Sons Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ruthie Savannah Odom, 67, service at Zion Hill Assembly of God Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with Rev. Agnes Sorrel of Eustace officiating. Interment was at Zion Hill cemetery with Eubank Funeral Home in charge.

Arch W. Green died suddenly in Brownsboro clinic Wednesday March 29. Services held Thursday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Eubank & Co. Funeral Chapel in Wills Point with Rev. H. G. McBride conducting the last rites. Interment was in White Rose Cemetery under direction of Eubank & Co. Funeral Home.
