Paul Anthony Parkins

1971-2017

Paul Anthony Parkins was born July 7, 1971, in Toledo, Ohio. 

He had been a resident of Edgewood for eight years, formerly living in the Dallas area and Georgia. 

He began his career in transportation logistics for mail order Honey Hams in Atlanta.  After self-training, he worked for Ballentine Co./Wilmington Trust in Atlanta as an IT specialist. 

 In Georgia, he served as the president of Buckhead Rotaract Club from 2001-2003.  After moving to Texas, he worked for Billingsley Real Estate in Carrolton.  Separate from the corporate world, he was an entrepreneur, working with Green Horizons, an online, pre-paid electric company. 

He and his brother, Ian ran the Legendary Lone Star Taco Stand in Canton from 2010-‘12, until he was diagnosed with cancer.   In 2015, he worked as a contract resource IT specialist for Winning Strategies.

He passed away at the age of 45 on March 31, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dr. Conrad and Naomi Meints, Fred Parkins, Robert Knudson; and his uncle, Freddy Parkins.

Survivors include his wife, Clara Parkins of Edgewood; mother and stepfather, Lois and David Bloxom of Brownsboro; father, Rick Parkins of Chandler; grandmother, Shirley Knudson of Michigan; brothers and sisters, along with their spouses, Ian Robert and Alma Parkins of Grapevine, Heidi and Todd Williford of Georgia, Jessica Parkins of Washington, Mark Parkins of San Antonio, Hillarie and Clay Forister of Needville, and Larrin and Gregory Ford of Fort Worth; step-children, Trey Burden and Chris Burden, both of Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews.
