Services for Robert “Bob” Thomas Mobley were held Monday, April 10, 2017, at Greenwood
Funeral Home Chapel in Arlington.
Burial followed at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Mr. Mobley passed away peacefully on April 2, 2017, in San Angelo.
He was born in McAlester, Okla. on Feb.17, 1929, to the late Alfred and Allie Mobley.
He graduated from San Diego State University in San Diego, Calif. He served in the Army Air Corp from May 1946 to May 1949. He went to work for Vought working on the Navy’s first guided missile program in the early 1950s. He later transitioned into electronic engineering and retired from Texas Instruments in 1992. He was a longtime resident of Tyler and a member of the University Christian Church of Tyler.
He was preceded in death by his loving son, Robert Thomas Mobley.
He is survived by his sons, Brian Mobley and wife, Melissa, and John Mobley; sister, Mary Ann Lloyd; brother, James Mobley; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was a much loved father, grandfather, brother and a friend to all.
