Kindle set to retire after 28 years

Although May 18 will be a day of celebration, it will also be an emotional day for all the faculty and staff at Canton Intermediate School.

Maurita Kindle, a third-grade teacher, will say her goodbyes and send best wishes to her very last group of third grade students.

This school year will mark the end to her 28th year in education, the last 26 years being with Canton ISD as a third-grade teacher. Maurita comes from a family of educators. Her father, Larry Dunn, was Canton High School’s assistant principal and basketball coach for many years.

Her brother, Don Dunn, is currently Superintendent at Van ISD and her husband, Casey Kindle, is a fourth- grade teacher at Canton Intermediate School.
