Masonic officers installed for 2017-‘18
Castillian Lodge No., 141, Ancient Free & Accepted Masons, met June 24 to install lodge officers for the 2017-‘18 year.
The incoming officers are Master, Jack Bickle; Senior Warden, Michael Bowman; Junior Warden, Joshua Wintters; Treasurer, Ron Fields; Secretary, Mae Walling; Senior Deacon, John Crow; Junior Deacon, Pete Rose; Senior Steward, David Harmon III; Junior Steward, David Darnell; Marshall, Paul Lawley; Master of Ceremonies, Dale Baugh; Chaplain, Ed Cozart; and Tiler, Steve DeVille.
Representing the Grand Lodge of Texas, past District Deputy Grand Master, James F. Fuller was the installing officer. The installing marshal was Raymond Pruitt, past master of Castillian Lodge. The ceremony reminded each incoming officer of their duties and responsibilities and presented each man with their Masonic Apron and Jewel of Office. When working in the lodge, all Masons wear the lambskin or white leather apron as the badge of a Mason and symbol of innocence. Each officer’s apron is trimmed in royal blue and embroidered with the representation of their office. The silver Jewel of Office is the same as the one on the apron and is worn around the neck. For example, the Master of the Lodge wears a craftsman’s square. Once used as a tool by ancient freemasons to make sure stones were properly shaped, it is a symbol of virtue and reminds all masons to be truthful and morally upright in all their thoughts, words, and deeds.
