Emma Jane Phillips

1925-2017

Memorial services for Emma Jane Phillips, 91, of Athens, were held Sunday Oct. 8, 2017, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.

Interment followed at Meredith Campground in Athens.

Mrs. Phillips passed away Oct. 4, 2017.

She was born on Dec. 25, 1925, in Prairieville to Lee and Elsie Spainhour Williams.

She lived in the Walton Community for many years and was a member of China Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and gardening.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gilmon Dean Phillips; and sons, Danny Phillips, Johnny Phillips and William Lee Phillips.

Survivors include her son, Dennis and Lynn Phillips of Elkhart; daughter, Elaine and Mose Trimble of Athens; grandsons, Walter and Wendy Phillips of Murphysboro, Tenn., Wendell Phillips of Eustace, Paul and Stephanie Phillips of Bellmead, Chris and Stacey Phillips of Paradise, Clay Trimble of Athens, and Cody and Brandi Trimble of Athens; granddaughter, Wendy and Matt Ottaberry of Walton; numerous

great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Alice William and Izora Williams; brother-in-law, Adrian Chamblee; sisters, Gladys Godwin, Mary Corley and Ruby Corley; brother, Orsborn Williams.
