A memorial celebration of life was held for Rose Mary Willis Dec. 11, 2017, at Cox Cemetery.
She was born May 1, 1940, in Canton, Texas. She graduated from Canton High School and attended Drawns Business College in Dallas.
She was a current resident of Grand Prairie, formerly living in Canton. She retired from Texas Instruments-Raytheon after 35 years. She loved to collect antiques, paint with oils, work cross-word puzzles, work outdoors in her yard, and listen to music from the fifties. She loved her daughters and her grandchildren, always putting them first.
She passed away at the age of 77 on Dec. 7, 2017, in Irving. She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Truman Holmes and Clint Willis; infant son, Tony B. Holmes; infant daughters, Marlene and Darlene Holmes; parents, C. D. Douthit and Mary Senora Cox Douthit; brother, Staton Douthit; and two nephews, Stanly Buck Young and Jerry Lynn Young.
Survivors include her four daughters and sons-in-law, Merrie Dawn and Rex Clause of Grand Prairie, Rose Celest and Tony Grasso of Duncanville, Lisa Lynn and Randy Gibson of New Mexico, and Angela Deanna and Howard Pitcock of Grand Prairie; four brothers, Darwin Douthit, Winston Douthit, Carol Lee Douthit and Herbert Douthit; four sisters, Nancy Young, Doris Grace, Sue Baugh and Pamela Kay Lambrecht; nine grandchildren, Kerrie, Amanda, Austin, Robert, Lon, Nicholas, Jeffrey, James and David; seven great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Autumn, Jessie, Edward, Declan, Ronan and Kaden; and numerous extended family members and friends.
