Curtis Smallwood 1935-2017

 Services for Curtis Leon Smallwood, 82, of Canton were held Sunday Dec. 10, 2017 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. Interment was in Holly Springs Cemetery in Martin’s Mill. He passed away on Dec. 7, 2017 in Athens, TX.

He was born on June 20, 1935 in Kaufman to William Britton and Marcella Theodocia Smallwood.

He was a Mason for 56 years. He loved to sing and play the guitar. He enjoyed coaching little league and was a Longhorn fan. He supported the Martin’s Mill school district by serving many years on the school board and attending basketball games.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Larry Michael Smith; siblings, Elmer Smallwood, Rene Jacobs, Ella Mae Parish, Mary Taylor, Dank Covington, Glad Williford, R.B. Smallwood, Mildred Cagle, and infant girl Evelyn.

Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Darlene Smallwood; daughter, Patty Cummings; daughter, Cheryl Downing and husband Andy; son, Larry Leon Smallwood and wife Linda; son, Gary Smallwood and wife Della; daughter, Tammy Parker and husband Matt; daughter, Diane Cronk; 28 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 12 great great-grandchildren; a passel of granddogs; sister, Bonnell Childers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
