Teams compete at Vandal powerlifting meet

Van Zandt County schools were well represented in Van Jan. 27 with three local schools, Canton, Grand Saline and Van, all in the field of this year's Van Invitational Powerlifting Meet.

Canton posted the best finish among local schools in the team competition, placing third overall behind Gilmer and Athens in the varsity girls division and fourth overall in the varsity boys division behind Corsicana, Gilmer and Athens. Grand Saline finished eighth overall in the varsity girls division and ninth in the varsity boys division and Van finished 10th overall as a team in the varsity girls division and eighth in the varsity boys division.
