Bachelors in Black set for Project Graduation

“It is that time again!  Bachelors in Black is a night of fun for all involved – the performers (Senior CHS students), who prepare stage acts guaranteed to provide a few laughs, and the audience, who come out to support a great cause – Project Graduation.

“Project Graduation is a planned celebration, in a safe environment, on the night of high school graduation.  The goal is to let these kids know how proud we are of their accomplishments, and teach them to celebrate in a safe and responsible way.  Too often, we have all heard of accidents that have taken place on the roads on graduation night.  We do not want to see a joyful night turn into tragedy.  Instead, we want these seniors to have one last opportunity to spend time with all of their classmates in a fun and safe atmosphere.

“Obviously, this is an expensive undertaking.  The class of 2018 has approximately 148 students.  We will take them by bus to Shenanginanz in Rockwall.  Throughout the year, we have several fundraisers, but Bachelors in Black is the biggest, and most enjoyable.  In addition to the entertainment, there will be a silent auction, featuring some amazing items that have been donated by generous local businesses and individuals.  Tickets are $5, and are available from any CHS senior, or at the door.  The event begins at 6 p.m., at Larry Davis Auditorium, Feb. 10.  Please join us for a night of memory-making, and support for some wonderful young people,” stated Angie Day, Bachelors in Black organizer.
