June Forbing 1935-2018

 

June Leo Good Forbing, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, 82, of Canton, passed away peacefully Friday, Feb 9, 2018 in Athens after a brief illness.

She was born on Oct 19, 1935 to Henry and Ethel Good in Emporia, Kan.

She moved to California as a child and graduated from San Bernardino High School. She attended college at Long Beach State University where she studied Advertising and Display. She was a consultant for several small businesses and designed advertising for the Harley Davidson and See's Candy companies in California. In her later years, she was part owner and operator of Forbing Peach Farms with her husband Jack in Pittsburg. After retiring, she traveled extensively throughout the US and Alaska in her RV camper for many years camp hosting for state parks. She was a National Park Ranger. She spent many years in the desert Southwest, which she truly loved.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jack Forbing of Pittsburg, her parents and one sister, all of California and her beloved son Robert Taylor of Marble Falls.

She is survived by sons, Rod Taylor and wife Joy from Mineola and Michael Fields and wife Jeannie from Flower Mound; daughter, Bonnie Carlson from Hallsville; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; One sister survives, Mary Rowbottom of California and several nieces and a nephew.

A memorial service will be held at Brookside Baptist Church in Canton at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb 17.

A private service will be held at Our Lady of the Pines Cemetery in Daingerfield at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to a charity of their choice.
