Lifters compete at Jackrabbit Invitational

Canton varsity boys and girls lifters made their way to Forney Feb. 17, each competing in their third event of the year at the 11^th annual Jackrabbit Invitational Powerlifting Meet. Eaglette lifters finished third overall out of 28 school while Eagle lifters finished 18^th out of 29 schools.

Individual girls results included:

-105 lb. weight class: Madison Baugh, second place, 500 lbs. lifted

-114 lb. weight class: Carla Perez, second place, 605 lbs. lifted

-123 lb. weight class: Ashley Riffe, third place, 610 lbs. lifted

-132 lb. weight class: Kendralynne Shook, sixth place, 535 lbs. lifted; Brynna Mackling, 10^th place, 460 lbs. lifted; Shelby Wycough, 14^th place, 375 lbs. lifted

-148 lb. weight class: Kylie Crist, eighth place, 605 lbs. lifted; Evie Davis, 10th place, 555 lbs. lifted; Sydney Ellis, 11th place, 530 lbs. lifted; Kelly Egan, 13th place, 495 lbs. lifted

-165 lb. weight class: Julia Duke, first place, 760 lbs. lifted; Megan Gerlach, fourth place, 670 lbs. lifted; Sarah Mefford, ninth place, 595 lbs. lifted

-181 lb. weight class: Emily Greeson, eight place, 555 lbs. lifted

-220 lb. weight class: Faith Besherse, seventh place, 590 lbs. lifted

Varsity girls lifters will compete at again at the Region 3 Division II Meet in Fairfield Feb. 3 for a chance to qualify for the State Meet in Waco March 17.

-123 lb. weight class: George Charcas, fifth place, 790 lbs. lifted

-181 lb. weight class: Jeremy Lambert, 10^th place, 1000 lbs. lifted

-198 lb. weight class: Jeremiah Bradway, bombed out

-220 lb. weight class: Gunner Boswell, 25^th place, 705 lbs. lifted

-275 lb. weight class: Caden Saffel, 19^th place, 965 lbs. lifted

-SHW: Dakota Smith, Canton, third place, 1505 lbs. lifted; Drew Nunn, 12^th place, 1260 lbs. lifted

Varsity boys lifters will compete at again at the Region 3 Division II Meet in Malakoff Feb. 2 for a chance to qualify for the State Meet in Abilene March 24.
