Ruth Thomas 1926-2018

Ruth Whitaker Thomas passed away on April 8, 2018 in Canton. She was born March 27, 1926 in Mt. Lebonan, La. to Ernest and Rosa Whitaker. 

She lived most of her life in Canton where she was a homemaker and raised her two boys, Clyde Jr. and Larry.

She worked in retail sales and later in life worked for a nursing home overseeing the activities. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and spent many of those years in the church choir.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde Thomas; two sons, Clyde Jr. and Larry Thomas; and three grandchildren, Mitzi, Bret and Tye Thomas; siblings include brothers, Gordon, Glen and Wade Whitaker and sister, Ruby Wann.

She is survived by daughter-in-law, Janna Thomas of Eustace; four grandchildren, Tracy Logan of Allen, Trina and Mike Schoenstein of Southlake, Todd Thomas of Mabank, Debbie Thomas of Mabank, Heath and Paris Thomas of Garden Ridge; 10 great-grandchildren, Brittany and Cole Baker, Blake and Brandi Logan, Jill Schoenstein, Adam Schoenstein, Allison Schoenstein, Felicia Thomas, Brandon Thomas, Dylan Thomas, Dayton Thomas, Wyatt Thomas; six great great-grandchildren, Avery and Coley Baker, Blakeli and Brinlei Logan, Rayleigh and Madilyn Thomas;  Siblings:  Hazel and Bob Pennington of Canton, Harmel and Lucy Whitaker of Plano, Janet Whatley of Terrell; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Blake Logan, Cole Baker, Adam Schoenstein, Brandon Thomas, Dylan Thomas, Dayton Thomas, Wyatt Thomas.

Funeral services will be held at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 15.. Visitation before the service will be at 1 p.m.
