Take me out to the library
It is time to “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” at the Van Zandt County Library as the preschoolers will be listening to Ms. Rhonda read stories about America's pastime, baseball. Storytime will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, May 18, with a craft session after the reading.
Storytime will take a break after this week, but will resume June 5 during the summer months. Please note that Storytime will meet on Tuesdays during this time.
The Skywarn and Ham Radio Communications Class will meet this month from 9 a.m. untill noon on Saturday, May 19, in the Buchanan Room of the library. For more information, email David Pulley at dlpulley@live.com.
The 3D Printer Showcase featuring demonstrations by several area libraries will take place at the VZC Library. Come see what you can do with a 3D printer on from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, May 21.
Author of mystery fiction Diane Winters will appear at the library from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, May 23.
Winters, who is from southwest Nebraska, would enjoy meeting aspiring writers and others who are interested in her profession. She also will have some of her books available for purchase.
The Van Zandt County Library is open from 9 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday and from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday. The library is located at 317 First Monday Lane, Canton.
Some of the many offerings, besides books, are newspapers and magazines available to read in comfort, free WiFi, computer availability, and e-books. Check the website www.vanzandtlibrary.org for up-coming events.
