Tony Ogletree 1933-2018
Services for Tony Bert Ogletree, 84, of Canton were held Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Canton with Bro. Mike Roberson and Max Callahan officiating. Interment was in Haven of Memories.
He passed away May 17, 2018, at his home. He was born Aug. 5, 1933, in Canton to William Chester and Maggie Mae Talley Ogletree.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Canton. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.
He taught math and coached at Canton Junior High School and retired after 33 years. He enjoyed bailing hay and telling stories.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jacqueline Rose Ogletree, and his son, Mark.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Stanford Ogletree of Canton; son, Terry and Lisa Ogletree of Broken Arrow, Okla.; daughter-in-law, Karen Ogletree of Tyler, four stepchildren, Sara and Randy Plemons of North Richland Hills, John Paul and Susan Stanford of Dallas, Martha and Paul Freeman of Fort Worth, and Mimi and Ricky Dobbs of Commerce; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Nan and Charles Skidmore of Canton; sister-in-law, Juanita and Mike Hackney of Canton; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Pallbearers were Jerry Burns, Dean Hesse, Robert Westmoreland, Larry Dunn, Mike Hackney, and Billy Hudson. Honorary pallbearer was Louis Young.
