Robert Blakeborough 1935-2018

Robert (Bob) Blakeborough, 82, of Wills Point, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018. He was born on Dec. 5, 1935, in Minneapolis, Minn., to parents Floyd Blakeborough and Margaret Keogh.

He graduated from Edina High School and served in the US Army. On Aug. 13, 1960, he married Nancy Ann Zetzman at St. Peters Catholic Church in Richfield, Minn.

He spent several early years as a hobby stock racecar driver and enjoyed NASCAR throughout his life. He had a talent for renovating farm implements, building toys and building houses having designed and built four family homes over the years.

He and his wife owned and operated a successful farm machinery business, Economy Sales, which they relocated from Royalton, MN to Wills Point, in 1978. They have four children, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Margaret Blakeborough; brother, James Blakeborough; and great-grandson Remington Grey Rasco.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Nancy; brother, Terry Blakeborough (Jan); brother, Daryl Blakeborough (Theresa); sister, Cheryl Cloutier (Chuck); sister-in-law, Charlotte Blakeborough; sons, Allen Blakeborough (Artemia) and Brian Blakeborough; daughters, Karen Rasco and Robin Blakeborough; grandsons, Gavin Rasco (Stacie), Brennan Blakeborough, Hayden McCormick and Cole McCormick; granddaughters, April Jones (Kevin), Kinley Blakeborough and Micki McCormick; and great-grandchildren Camdyn, Tinley, Emersyn, Teagan and Karsyn.

A funeral mass was held on Friday, Aug. 24, at St. Therese Catholic Church in Canton, In lieu of flowers, donations to your local SPCA organization are appreciated.
