Buck Lide 1934-2018

Buck Duane Lide, 83, of Nederland passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018. He was born in Canton on Nov. 18, 1934, to the late Thomas Hiram Lide and Ruth E. Phillips Lide.

In 1954, he graduated from Canton High School before moving to Port Arthur where he worked as an iron worker for Texaco for over 40 years before retiring.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 36 years, Janice Lide of Nederland; sons, Michael Aylor and wife, Carrie, of Lumberton, Tim Aylor and wife, Deana, of Port Neches, Mark Aylor and wife, Elizabeth, of Boaz, Ala., and Brian Lide and wife, Pam, of Orange; daughter, Maria Lide Dubose and husband, Mike, of Orange; sisters, Janis Baskin of Martins Mill and Verne Holland of Euless; grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends was held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, with interment following at Oak Cliff Memorial Park in Port Neches.

Pallbearers were Al Lide, Heidle Baskin, Steve Baskin and Wade Baskin.
