J W Chaney 1930-2018

Services for J W Chaney, 88, of Martins Mill were held Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. He passed away Nov. 11, 2018, in Tyler.

He was born Jan. 10, 1930, at home in Martins Mill to Sephar Ahi Chaney and Wilmer Perkins.

He lived in Martins Mill his whole life and graduated from Martin Mill High School. He served his country in the Korean Conflict with the Army.

He returned back home after the war and started working for the highway department where he retired after 30 years.

He married Joyce Richardson on April 2, 1955, and they raised two daughters. He was Baptist by faith and enjoyed gardening, raising cows and fixing anything broken he could get his hands on.

He is survived by daughter, Donna Chaney; daughter, Danette Hart; granddaughter, Callie Hart-LaMarche and husband, Jeff; and great-granddaughter, Gracie.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sephar and Wilmer Chaney; wife, Joyce Chaney; sister, Golda and Clarence Young; and sister, Maxine and Aaron Watson.

Interment was at Holly Springs Cemetery in Martins Mill.
