Commissioners move quickly through short agenda

A short agenda was taken care of quickly as the regular meeting of the Van Zandt County Commissioners Court Nov. 28 lasted less than 10 minutes.

Forfeiture funds from the VZC District Attorney’s office to the following agencies for the VZC DA’s office shootout competition were approved by the commissioners’ court:  Van Police Department, $1,300; Canton Police Department, $500; VZC Sheriff’s Department, $200; and the Texas Department of Public Safety, $850.

In other action, the commissioners’ court approved the payment of Texas Association of Counties website fees which were as follows: website hosting, $800 ($550 last year) and website content management, $725 ($500 last year).

There were no fiscal year 2019 budget amendments presented during the commissioners’ court meeting.

Monthly reports submitted by various offices and departments of VZC government were approved and entered into the minutes of the commissioners’ court.

The October 2018 financial and investment report from the office of the VZC Treasurer was approved and entered into the minutes of the commissioners’ court.

The commissioners’ court approved the monthly bills as they were submitted.

The next regular meeting of the VZC Commissioners Court will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, in the VZC Courthouse.
