CISD honors Mighty Eagle Band

In the last Canton ISD school board meeting Dec. 17, trustees took time to honor the Canton High School Mighty Band for winning the state championship.
“Its always an honor to be able to go to state competition,” said CISD Superintendent Jay Tullos, “but, we didn’t just go. We went and won the state championship. You brought home the gold.” School board members praised the band’s success and also Mike Bartley, director of the band.
Campus principals also introduced the December employees of the month. Employees of the month are, CES, Lindsey Berendzen; CIS, Misti Goodson; CJH, Kris Still; and CHS, Mike Bartley.
The invocation was led by eighth grader Matthew Bartley and the Pledge of Allegiance was led by sixth grader Danielle Wynne.
