Lewis Chevrolet/Buick/GMC changing ownership after 53 years

The end of an era in Canton and Van Zandt County business became official last week as Lewis Chevrolet/Buick/GMC changed ownership after 53 years.
Paperwork was officially signed Dec. 14 to turn over the ownership of the automobile dealership to Hall Buick/GMC of Tyler.
Signage is in the process of being changed as the new name of the Canton business is now known as Hall Chevrolet/Buick/GMC.
“It is with regret that today (Friday, Dec. 14) is my last day after 53 years as owner of Lewis Chevrolet,” said Henry Lewis in a prepared statement. “I have long term health issues that may make it difficult to continue full-time.
“Canton has been good to Lewis Chevrolet and my family. The churches, schools and opportunities have been a blessing.
