Linda Roe 1934-2019

On Friday, Jan. 4, 2019, “Lyn” Linda Lou Burnett Roe, loving wife and mother of four children, passed away at the age of 84. She was born on July 22, 1934, in Athens to Halbert and Myrtie (Stilwell) Burnett.

On July 6, 1954, she married “Larry” Lawrence Howard Roe.

They raised one daughter, Rebecca Ann Roe Fears and three sons, Dr. Lawrence Howard Roe Jr, Christopher Allen Roe, and Stephen Michael Roe.

She worked as a full-time homemaker. She had a passion for her faith and love of Jesus. She served in her church in the choir and as a Sunday School teacher. She dearly loved her husband and family. There were many hobbies she enjoyed including scrapbooking, doll collecting, and painting ceramics.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Halbert and Myrtie, and by her sister, Paula Burnett Burleson.

She is survived by her husband, Larry; their four children, Becky, Lance and wife, Karen, Chris and wife Sara, and Stephen and wife, Bethany; and her brother, Richard Burnett and wife, Lola.

She was blessed with nine grandchildren, Dr. Rae Anne Dodds and husband, Craig, “Lenny” Leonard Fears IV, Matthew Fears and wife Ngan, “Loren” Lawrence Roe III and wife, Betsy, Bryan Roe and wife, Angela with the first great grandchild Nora Lynn, Colin Roe, Vivian Ireifej, Frances Mekhall and wife, Tess, Michael Roe, Andrew Roe and Jonathan Roe.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019, at Lakeside Baptist Church on 1291 Old Kaufman Rd, Canton. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Son Class at Lakeside Baptist Church.
