Evelin Foster Read, 89, of Magnolia, Ark, formerly of the Old Bethel Community, died Monday, June 8, 2015, at the John R Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado, Ark.

Evelin was born Dec. 24, 1925, in Canton and was a member of the Philadelphia United Methodist Church.

She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening and loved flowers, birds and all creatures great and small.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lovie Foster; husband, Howard G. Read; sister, Thelma Poston; and brothers, Avell Foster, Hollan Foster, and J.W. Foster.

Evelin is survived by her daughters, Carol and James Watson and Kathy and John George of Magnolia; granddaughter, Kellie George of Magnolia; grandsons, Kevin and Vicki Watson of Magnolia and Shane and Deanna Watson of Columbus, Miss.; great-grandsons, Adam, Austin, Matthew and Nicholas Watson; sisters, JoAnn Haddock and Daphnell Wilson of Kemp; brothers, Loyd Foster of Kemp and Lee Ray Foster of Cooper; and special friend, Altamae Kirkpatrick.      

Funeral services were held Thursday, June 11, 2015, at Philadelphia United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Edwards and the Rev. Raymond Cammack officiating. 

Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia.  Memorials may be made to CCAPS, PO Box 2003, Magnolia, AR 71754.

Pallbearers were Kevin Watson, Shane Watson, Lynn Wilson, Rodney Dyson, Curtis Lewis, and William Powell.
