Services for David Ralph Tunnell, 83, of Canton were held Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton  with Bro. Bill Parr and Bro. Lynn Mullins officiating.  Interment was in Haven of Memories.

He passed away May, 11, 2015, in Canton.  David was born April 18, 1932, in Colfax to Andrew and Janie Tunnell.

David was a member of Little Hope Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. He was an election judge for Canton ISD for 22 years and for the Van Zandt County Democratic Party for over 25 years. David was a master carpenter and then a building contractor for 36 years. He was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa.  He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. 

David is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jackie JoNell Tunnell of Canton; son, Eddie and Brenda Tunnell of Canton; son, David Glenn and Karen Tunnell of Mineola; five grandchildren, Traci Tunnell, Cristole and Gregg Beverly, David Paul and Whitney Tunnell, Zachary Tunnell and Abby Lynn Tunnell; seven great-grandchildren, Mikhayla, Dalton, Hunter, Bryce, Grayson, Gabe and Caitlynn; two sisters, Julia and Charles Faglie of Canton and Georgianna Keahey of Colfax; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rebecca Middleton; and brother, Tommy Tunnell.

Pallbearers were his nephews, Andy Faglie, Jerry Don Faglie, James Faglie, Mark Keahey, Bryce Keahey, Wesley Middleton, Larry Middleton, Billy Middleton, Jeff Tunnell and Brett Tunnell.
