Services for Darla May Bilyeu, 68, of Ben Wheeler, were held Saturday, July 18, 2015, at the Heritage Trail Cowboy Church in Ben Wheeler, with Pastor C.R. Chapman officiating under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.

Mrs. Bilyeu passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2015, at home after fighting a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born April 28, 1947, in Annapolis, Md., to T. B. and Alice May Fleming Green. 

Darla was a member of the Heritage Trail Cowboy Church.  Her family was the most important thing in her life.  She was a wonderful wife, mother and nana.  Darla was very proud that both of her children became teachers. 

Mrs. Bilyeu loved her dogs.  She also enjoyed her crafts, especially making layered wooden crosses.  She was proud to be left handed and passed the trait down to her granddaughter and nephew.  She had lived in Ben Wheeler for the past 19 years.

Mrs. Bilyeu is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Donald Green; sister-in-law, Carolyn Green; brother-in-law, Bill Hobbs and father-in-law, Marcellas Bilyeu.

Darla is survived by her husband of 50 years, Howard Bilyeu of Ben Wheeler; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Deniz Bilyeu of New Orleans, La.; daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Len Reeves of Corinth; three granddaughters, Katie Reeves, Chloe Reeves and Eren Bilyeu; three brothers, Richard and Annette Green of San Antonio; Dudley Green and Sharon Toal of Dallas and Mike Green of Waxahachie; sister, Sharon Hobbs of Waxahachie and mother-in-law, Katherine Bilyeu of Ben Wheeler.

Pallbearers were Richard Green, Mike Green, Leonard Reeves, Chris Green, Jason Green and Charles Stone.
