Canton First Assembly
Kidz Rock of Canton First Assembly will host a back to school water fun day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 10.
Pulled pork barbeque sandwiches, fruit and drinks will be provided, organizers said.
Participants are asked to bring a T-shirt and shorts to swim in along with a towel and sunscreen.
Canton First Assembly is located at 801 E. Highway 243, Canton.

Free School Supplies!
Canton Church of Christ will host the second annual School Supplies Giveaway from 9 a.m. until noon Aug.15.
Basic school supplies will be given to children from kindergarten through 12th grade. The limit is one bag per child while supplies last, organizers said.

Jackson Baptist sets revival
Jackson Baptist Church located along Highways 198 and 1651, will host a revival beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 2. The revival will continue at 7 p.m. through Wednesday, Aug. 5.
Jacksonville College President Bro. Mike Smith will be the guest speaker.
After the conclusion of the Wednesday night service, there will be fellowship and food, organizers said.

Wallace UMC says goodbye, hello to pastors
Wallace United Methodist Church had a great turnout for Vacation Bible School with 20 children and 12 adult helpers and teachers, organizers of the event said.
The church used VBS as an opportunity to say good-bye to its pastor of two years, Conrad Staton. He has been given a new appointment as the associate pastor at St. John the Apostle United Methodist Church in Arlington.
“He will be dearly missed but we wish him well on this next portion of his pastoral journey,” a church spokesperson.
July 29 a party was given to welcome the church’s new pastor, Jeremy Brewer.
His first sermon from the pulpit will be Sunday Aug. 2.
Sunday School classes begin at 8:45 a.m., Sunday Worship is at 9:45 a.m., and Wednesday Night Bible Study is at 6:30 p.m. The Church is located at 151 VZCR 2501 in Canton.

Lakeside to ‘Get Soaked’ at VBS Aug. 3 through 5
Lakeside Baptist Church will host its Get Soaked Vacation Bible School 2015 at Splash Kingdom Waterpark from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Aug. 3 through 5.
The VBS is for those kids who have completed kindergarten through sixth grade.
Cost is $10 per person with a maximum of $25 per family.
The cost includes three nights at the waterpark and a T-shirt.
