County librarian looks toward Friendly future

The Van Zandt County Library gets by with a little help from its Friends.

Make that a lot of help from its Friends, according to Library Director Susie Pulley.

Pulley was the guest speaker at the Van Zandt County Friends of the Library meeting Sept. 14. She shared the history of the library and talked about its future.

“Confucius said study the past if you would define the future. The future of the Van Zandt County Library should be a concern for all of us,” Pulley said.

Prologue

Using information gathered from Friends of the Library scrapbooks, Pulley told the group that the library was initially founded in the early 1930s as a resource for the county’s school children.
