Treat yourself to these Halloween events
Beginning this weekend, there is a basket full of Halloween events that promise all treats – no tricks!
Oct. 31 – First Assembly Trunk or Treat, Canton
Canton First Assembly will be hosting a family fun Halloween alternative this year.
From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 31, the church will sponsor Trunk or Treat on its front parking lot, 801 E. Hwy. 243.
“There will be hot dogs, chips and sodas, plus candy, candy, candy!” organizer said.
Colfax UMC Trunk-or-Treat, Van
Colfax United Methodist Church will host a trunk-or-treat from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31.
The event will be a safe Halloween alternative, organizers said.
The church is located at 3739 FM 16 in Van.
Boo on the Bricks – Wills Point
The fourth annual Boo on the Bricks will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 31 on the brick streets in downtown Wills Point.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be arts and crafts vendors and a kid’s zone on High Street and a Harvest Health Fair in the Wills Point Community Center.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. there will be trick or treating and trunk or treating in the downtown area.
At noon there will be a children’s costume contest hosted by STEPZ and a pet costume contest hosted by Blair Dog Center.
The event is coordinated by the Wills Point Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by Dukes Travel Plaza.

Hallelujah Night – Wills Point
Hallelujah Night is a Christian alternative to Halloween provided by the International Outreach Church of Wills Point.
Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the food, fun, and fellowship, but only children 12 years old and under can register and participate in the games, church officials said.
Hallelujah Night will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. at International Outreach Church, 1404 Lake Dr., Wills Point.

Goody Trail – Grand Saline
The Grand Saline Goody Trail will be Oct. 31 in downtown Grand Saline.
In addition to shops giving out candy and treats, anyone with a costume and a vehicle is invited to come and participate in the trunk or treat portion of the event.

Saturdays and Friday before Halloween – Hatchet House of Terror, Edom
The Edom Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a fundraising – and hair-raising – spookhouse from 8 to 11 p.m. Oct. 24 and 30 and 8 p.m. to midnight Halloween.
The theme for this year’s haunted walk-through is “The Penitentiary.”
Admission is $10.
The Hatchet House of Terror is located at Edom First Station 1, 9377 FM 279 in Edom.

Saturdays and Sundays through Oct. 31 – Judgement House, Canton
Crossroads Church in Canton will be presenting Judgement House: 59 Minutes (eternity is less than an hour away) from 4 to 7 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday in October.
Judgement House is a dramatic walk-through presentation about the truth of people’ choices and their consequences both in this life and the next, organizers said.
Judgement House is a walk-through, live drama where groups of 10 are guided through different rooms representing a scene from an unfolding story that is acted out in short dramatizations.
The tour takes about 45 minutes. A new tour begins every 15 minutes a new tour
begins.
The event is free. Reservations are not required, but recommended for large groups.
The drama is not recommended for children under 10.
