The Canton team helped each other stay cool, dumping bottles of water on runners as they reached the homestretch on Monday morning.

The Running Eagles ran at the district cross country meet on Monday and walked away with four district championships, four district individual champions, and two regional qualifying teams. It was certainly a great day to be an Eagle runner!

The varsity girls continued their district champ tradition for the 9th year in a row. Karen James was the individual champion with a time of 12:51 on the rough and hilly course.  "I'm so proud of Karen. She has worked hard since track season and her times have improved each week. She is very goal oriented and determined,” said Coach Marta Morgan.

Juliana Bratcher finished 4th overall in 13:30, Hannah Manry 5th in 13:38, Taylor Marshall 10th in 14:05, Morgan Palmer 12th in 14:13, and Lindsey Lamar 13th in 14:35.  The varsity boys team also defended their district title winning for the third year in a row. Cordale Harrison was 2nd overall with a time of 17:56. Coach Morgan stated, "Cordale is definitely a leader on this team. He has improved so much this year and matured in his running and it is paying off for him.”

Matthew Hook was 3rd in a time of 18:04, Juan Ruiz 10th in 18:51, Andrew Hamel 11th in 19:06, Jonathan Bourquin 14th in 19:35, and Fernando Lopez 17th in 20:03.
