Services for William Clyde “Billy” Deen, 99, of Canton, were held March 21, 2016, at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.

Mr. Deen died March 18, 2016, in Wills Point.

He was born on Jan. 1, 1917, to John Egbert and Duron Turner Deen.

He was a member of the Baptist Church since he was 8 years old and was the oldest member of the Masonic Lodge. He received his 70 years pen in 2015.

During World War II he served four years in the Army Air Corps. He was the Van Zandt County Clerk for eight years during the 1950s and later he retired from the Texas State Highway Department.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth Deen; brother, Jack Deen; brother, Dewitt Deen and sister, Thelma Lee Hanson.

He is survived by his son, Travis and Carol Deen of Wills Point; son, Billy Jack and Lucia Deen of Canton; granddaughters, Teresa Webb, Dana Kinion, and Andrea Deen; grandsons, Luke Deen and Sam Deen; great grandchildren, George Deen, Emily Ann Deen, Ruthie Kinion, Emma Kinion, Henry Kinion, Ben Webb and Jake Webb; brother, Ted Deen Sr.; and several nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers were Larry Robinson, Dyde Manning, Charles Holland, Mike Hackney, Lewis Pulley, Danny Rogers, Henry Lewis, John Turner, Hoss Williams, Horace Ethridge, Emmett Paul and Russel Eubank.
