Services for Gary "Jack" Wayne Baker, 71, of Whitton, were held Monday, March 28, 2016, at the Eubank Funeral Chapel in Canton with Bro. Steve Glosup officiating. 

Interment was in Tarver Cemetery.

Mr. Baker died at home March 25, 2016.  He was born Oct. 27, 1944, in Dallas to William and Birtha McNelly Baker. 

He grew up in Colfax. After marrying Marie, they lived in Mesquite and then moved to Canton in 1979.  He retired from Sweetheart Cups, now a part of Solo Cups.  He was Assembly of God by faith.  He loved raising cows and gardening.  He was a living example of the marriage vows: always loving and caring for Marie during her many years of illness.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Marie Whitton Baker; his parents; two brothers, Bill and Jesse; and three sisters, Birtha Pearl, Joyce and Martha Ann.

He is survived by two sons, Bradley and Suzie Baker of Canton and Brian Baker of Flint; granddaughter, Ashley Nicole Baker of Allen; grandson, Airman 1st Class Blake Bolton, USAF; three sisters, Clara Mae and Wayne Word of Forney, Bonnie Head of Grand Prairie, and Carolyn Sports of Grand Prairie; two brothers, Milton Baker of Canton, Henry and Faye Baker of Canton; and his mother-in-law, Huleen Whitton Walters of Canton. 

Pallbearers will be Wayne Baker, David Baker, Greg Gentry and Travis Rowe.
