Canton Marketplace has announced that World Master Chef Sharon Van Meter has launched Miss Petie’s Southern Kitchen inside the 93,000 square foot indoor shopping facility.
The restaurant is open for Canton residents as well as Trade Days visitors, according to information from the marketplace. “Everyone can enjoy dining, wine tasting and then shop until they drop with the hundreds of vendors inside Canton Marketplace,” they said.

Her career includes her role as the executive director at Milestone Culinary Arts Center for more than five years and in 2009, Van Meter became the first female director of the American Culinary Federation Texas Chefs Association.
Currently, Van Meter is president of SVM Productions, LLC. Created in 2001, SVM Productions encompasses television, radio and culinary productions for several food networks.
She serves as the president of the Greater Dallas Restaurant Association board of directors and on the Texas Restaurant Association Education Foundation board of trustees.
“Van Meter’s incredible talent in the culinary arts places her in high demand both nationally and internationally,” a spokesman for the marketplace said. “Recently she participated in culinary events in Hawaii and London to lend her talents.”
