Memorial services for Haskell “Hack” Logan Willeford, 76, of Canton, are scheduled for 3 p.m., Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church in Canton with Pastor Jon Thornsbury, Pastor Jim Pickens, Chaplain Denny Burris and Chaplain Elaine Maddox officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. The Dallas Fire Department Last Bell Service will be at the Van Zandt Country Club following the memorial service.
Mr. Willeford passed away June 9, 2016, in St. Ignace, Michigan. He was born April 21, 1940, in Delano, California to Henry and Johnie Lowrance Willeford.
Hack was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Canton, the Castillian Lodge #141, the Board of Directors at the Van Zandt Country Club and the Moose Lodge in Drummond Island, Michigan.
Hack retired as a Battalion Chief from the Dallas Fire Department after 35 years of service. He loved golf, fishing and dominoes. He really enjoyed his many friends.
Mr. Willeford is preceded in death by his mother, Johnie West; brother, Ronnie Willeford; and step daughter, Susan Knight.
Hack is survived by his wife, Jan Willeford of Canton; sons, Chris and Kathy Willeford of Canton, Kevin and Michelle Willeford of Rowlett; step-daughter, Shannon and Mark Whittington of Canton; sister, Kay Nightengale of Kingston, Oklahoma; step-brother, Roy Don and Lori West of Moore, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, Logan Willeford, Lauren Willeford, Noah Willeford, Samantha Whittington and Marci Whittington; and many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Hack Willeford Scholarship Fund at the Van Zandt Country Club.
