Texas.gov makes ‘to do’ list easier

Taking a trip? Hitting the lake? Camping at a state park?

What about preparing for a new school year?

Summer is always a busy time of year, but state officials are reminding Texans that online services can make things easier – things like renewing driver licenses and vehicle registrations, getting fishing licenses and making park reservations and even requesting a copy of a birth certificate.

“Thanks to Texas.gov, Texans are just a click away from simple, hassle-free online services,” according to Lisa Carrell, senior marketing associate with Texas NIC.

“Summer is also consistently one of the busiest times of the year for many state agencies, with offices typically experiencing more visitors and longer than usual wait times. Instead of wasting a summer day indoors and in line, the state’s official website offers a great way for Texans to take care of government business quickly and securely so they can put more time and energy into having fun,” Carrell said.

Texas.gov is the state’s official website  and it offers a gateway to information about Texas and access to more than 1,000 secure online services.

Here is just a sampling of what Texas.gov has to offer:

Driving – Whether you’re just driving around town or planning a road trip to a great Texas travel destination, make sure your documents are in order. Head to Texas.gov/Driver to renew your driver license and, following a successful inspection, you can renew your vehicle registration online as well.

Boating, Camping and Fishing – Before you enjoy Texas’ many beautiful lakes or rivers, take care of your boat registration renewal online. You can also make a camping reservation at one of the state’s 50 plus parks. And if fishing is on the itinerary, get your license at tpwd.texas.gov.
