Jack Hunter Jr., 93, of Canton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, in Canton.
He was born Aug. 20, 1923, in Dallas, to Earl “Jack” Hunter and Josephine Blackmon Hunter.
He grew up in Dallas where he attended school. He joined the Air Force and served as a waist gunner in a B-17 during WWII. After returning home from the war, he went to work for South Western Bell and retired after 30 years. He attended First United Methodist Church in Canton where he was very active. He was very family oriented; he enjoyed working on his farm and playing dominoes.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Josephine Hunter; wife, Julia Nell Hunter; and son, Andy Hunter.
He is survived by his daughter, Tina and Ken Schofield; daughter, DeDe and Milton Clark; grandchildren: Grant Green, Josh East, Samantha Villegas, Jennifer Bird, William Gilmore and Dylan Schofield; great-grandchildren, Haley Owens, Forrest Green, Hannah Green, Cammi Bird, Evelyn Gilmore and Addie Gilmore, great-great grandchild, Callie Owens; and sister, Sandra Wood.
