A Celebration of Life will be held on March 18, 2017, for immediate family and friends of Jerry DeWayne Vicory, 75, Canton.
Mr. Vicory was born March 18, 1941, in Picher, Okla. to the late Muriel Theodore Vicory and Goldie Irene Mitchell Vicory. He had lived in Canton for 22 years, living previously in Gavilan Hills, Calif.
He worked as a construction superintendent and heavy equipment operator. He was retired from the Operating Engineers, Local 12 of Pasadena, Calif. He was a member of the Texas Game Breeders and California Game Breeders Association. He was known for raising the best game birds. His love and knowledge for his gamebirds made him many cherished friends throughout his life. He was loved by all six of his grandchildren and has left them with long-lasting love, laughter and memories from teaching them to love and care for animals to teaching them all how to drive. He was a loving husband and his wife's best friend, doing everything together, including a dance in the kitchen just before dinner almost every day for 31 years. He will be deeply missed and forever in everyone's, including his friends, heart.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles R. “Shorty” Crumley and Gary L. Vicory and sister, Sue Bennett.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnne Williams Vicory of Canton; seven children, Cara J. Garcia and Tara A. Byers of Texas, Wendy Vicory, Lynn Bowers, Pam Vicory, Sandy Vicory and Aaron Vicory all of California; brother, Billy Vicory of Texas and Sally Nolan of Arizona; six grandchildren, Robert A. Garcia, Candice B. Garcia, Brandon L. Garcia, Emmy M. Garcia, Caitlin B. Byers and Christopher Byers; two great-grandchildren, Camden Drew and Jaxden Avery; two brother in laws, Ray R. Perez of Texas and Robert Perez of California sister in law, Linda P. Wilson of California.
