Fall in love at the library

Valentines are popping up all around the Van Zandt County Library.
Valentine’s Day started at the end of the fifth century, when Pope Gelasius declared Feb. 14 as St. Valentine’s Day. Much later, during the middle ages in England and France, it was commonly believed that the middle of February was the beginning of the mating season of birds. This added to the idea that Valentine’s Day should be a day for romance.
