What a wonderful time we had last year. After many years of generous donations and fundraisers, we were finally able to put the Kneeling Soldier on his pedestal in the Memorial Plaza. The Veterans Day Program to show the statue off was fantastic. And I know it made everyone proud to see another nice Veterans Memorial in Van Zandt County.
This year, the Veterans Memorial group has a lot of events planned and are in process to be completed. We will be having programs for Memorial Day, Labor Day, a Balloon release, Golf Tournament, Veterans Day and Turkey Shoot, just to mention a few.
